You could say the weather in mid June was hotter than I expected, walking on Carvoeiro beach mid afternoon the sand was hotter than I have ever known so we jumped onto the boards and they were hotter still, so many newbies lying and frying I guess there were some sore bodies the day after.
The mission was to visit and profile a futher 15 restaurants and bars and add them to our site at http://www.finditalgarve.com/ which is rapidly becoming a focal point for visitors to our beloved region.
The more places we add the better the site gets...make your recommendations and pass our details on.
So where did we eat..first night Elliotts in Monte Carvoeiro usual great food, brilliant terrace and busy. Im a fan of here as it offers an all round great evening with atmosphere and at prices that are reasonable. Followed by drinks in The Cocktail Garden great to see Luis and Catia again, always a favourite.
2nd day a busy day on our feet lunch was pasta at he Cascata Pool bar good value and a pleasant meal followed in the evening by Chicos is Carvoeiro it is 10 years since we have eaten there and the new owners have done it proud turkey rolled with cheese and ham was special and again 40euros for 3 of us - great value.
Day 3 on our feet again taking pictures getting details evening was spent in Chinatown with a full chinese meal spring rolls, duck and main course, its not everyones cup of tea to have a Chinese on holiday but this was exceptional and great value. I was surprised how busy the restaurant was, any more than 2 peiople would have struggled to get in.
The last night was saved for nachos at Ma-Ja's a quiet seat outside, cold beer a good chat with Jan and Mark and great food, well worth searching out on your visit...to cap it all they had homemade lemon meringue pie it just had to be done...done tell the wife. They have now started a lunch and early evening set meal with good choices for 7,50euros, great value
All in all 4 great days and the standard of the Carvoeiro restaurants was top as usual, they just need more people to visit them so have a look at http://www.finditalgarve.com/ for some more great holiday ideas
